North Herts. Feb 9, 2012. #2. Here in the UK they only sold the Climbing model. In other parts of Europe there was a more 'basic' 4x4 model. This had steel wheels with 165/70x14 tyres (which reduced the ground clearance by 5mm or so compared to the Climbing), and didn't have the extra black 'offroad' panels on the bumpers.

Frank, the MK4 panda comes standard with continental cross contacts. 306maxi has winter tyres on his 4x4 mk3 Panda, and it's proving to be unstoppable this winter. there's a good winter tyre thread here if you have a few days on your hands to take it all in. It was a good lesson about driving skill and appropriate tyre choice. There are some cars you kick yourself for not owning and the original, flat-screen, no-grille Panda 4x4 is high on my list.
